A GOLDEN HOMESCHOOL MOMENT

Is there any other sight a mother wants to see more than this? My daughter had said she didn't like to read books (other than picture books) by herself because the "print is too small and there's no pictures," but today my little chatterbox was extremely quiet - not even the usual singing or talking to pets - and when I went to check her I found her sitting on the porch swing in the lovely, spring sunshine and reading Anne of Green Gables all by herself. She read three chapters and is enjoying the story all over again. I'm so proud of her. She can read!
